DRESS CODE POLICY
We believe that the use of a uniform dress code contributes to a positive and disciplined environment, and removes one of the factors often used to create envy, jealousy, and negative competition among students. A dress code also sends a signal to a student that going to school is a time for hard work and studious activity and eliminates confusion about what is acceptable, modest and appropriate attire for attending school.
DRESS CODE FOR ALL STUDENTS
The dress code for male and female students is:
- Khaki pants or knee-length shorts for boys in tan, navy, black, or brown
- Khaki pants, knee-length shorts for girls in tan, navy, black, or brown (no jeggings or leggings)
- Collared and solid-colored “polo” style shirts, both short and long-sleeved
- During winter months, solid-colored sweaters or sweatshirts may be worn over a collared, solid-colored polo shirt
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
Candies Creek Academy exists as a support and extension of the family unit. Because the Bible indicates that the family is the most important human institution God designed, we consider the family to be of first importance to every child. We strive to support the family and respect parental authority and responsibility in all we do. We believe that parents are ultimately responsible for the education of their children; we see ourselves as “subcontractors” of the parents, who work in tandem and in full cooperation with the parents. The parents are the contractors –the ones who are responsible for getting the job done. We encourage parental involvement in the education of their children and have formatted our program to foster such involvement.
LUNCHES
Students bring their lunches most days. CCA does offer optional hot lunches from local restaurants for purchase via FACTS 2-3 days each week.
UPPER SCHOOL HOUSE SYSTEM
To promote a sense of community, the CCA upper school has a House System. Each student will be placed in a house: Arma, Coronam, or Gladio. These houses are intended to bring about close relationships among all upper school grades, leading to mentorship and discipleship. Houses meet together once weekly for a time of devotion and prayer and service project planning. The houses engage in friendly competition throughout the year through Service, Academics, and Intramural Competitions.
